Def Leppard may improve your relationships

Pour some sugar on me. 🎶
Ooh, in the name of love. 🎶

I saw Def Leppard this past weekend and it was awesome.

I had no plans to go that concert. When I first heard Def Leppard was coming to town, my reaction was “meh”. Sure, I enjoyed them back in the 80s. A lot actually. And I’m glad I got to see them in concert back in the 90s.

But I just wasn’t feeling it this time. 😑

And then one day while I was driving, Pour Some Sugar on Me – quite possibly my favourite Def Leppard song EVER – started playing. While I was belting out the lyrics I remembered how much my sister loves them and figured even if I wasn’t keen on going to the concert, I bet my sister would love to go.

My sister and I don’t hang nearly enough. I mean, we get together regularly for family stuff (i.e. birthdays, holidays, etc.), but aside from that, we don’t spend much time together. So I thought this would be a great chance to have some fun together.

As soon as I mentioned going to the concert, she was in! When word got out that we were planning to go to the Def Leppard concert, my sister’s husband and my brother & his wife decided to join in on the fun.

And it was fun. A lot of fun. We sang, danced, and rocked 🤘like nobody’s business. Def Leppard put on a stellar show.

The moral of the story?
Def Leppard may improve your relationships.

Ok, that may not be entirely true.

The real moral of the story is…
If you want to spend more time with those who matter to you, be willing to try things you’re not always interested in. Bonus: You may actually have a ton of fun doing it.

Have you ever gone to an event simply because you wanted to spend time with someone? If so, tell me about it. I love hearing from you. 🙃
